Sylwestra KALISKIEGO 2 POLAND Tel. +48 22 683-94-91; Fax +48 22 666 81 62, +48 22 683 72 14 http://www.wcbkt.pl; e-mail: [email protected] TRAINING SIMULATOR FOR T-72 TANK GUNNERS BESKID 2M/Z The BESKID 2M/Z is a modern simulator designed to provide T-72 tank gunners training in the areas of: • operating the sight and controls of combat compartment, • target detection, identification and range finding, • measuring of distance to the target, • selection of appropriate type of ammunition, • development of skills in setting proper advance and range correction in various tactical situations, • aiming and effective firing at stationary and moving targets and correcting of fire. The training simulator is a stationary system fitted with computer controlled system for battlefield simulation. It replicates the layout and functions of real gunner compartment components. The computer generated visual system produces realistic, high resolution, full-colour environment visible through the gunner's sight, including different terrain types and weather conditions (fog, visibility, seasons). Visual system generates 2D and 3D stationary and moving targets including combat vehicles, tanks and helicopters. The simulator incorporate 3 terrain types for exercises (each of approximately 25 km2) with possibility to its further development and adaptation to the user's needs. There are 100 standard exercises programmed in the simulator comprising wide variety of tactical situations. The system enables unlimited creation and modification of existing exercises. The sound effects accompanying the operating of real tank mechanisms and battlefield noise effects are realistically simulated. The map of terrain is also displayed at the operation monitor showing current tank position and location of targets. All gunner's actions are recorded and analysed on the basis of entered exercise parameters. "After Action Review" function allows to review the recently performed exercise.
