Product catalog summary
Description and Applications: The V526B 2-Way Balanced Disc Direct Lift Solenoid Valve is designed for liquid or gas applications within the nuclear industry. It is typically used in systems such as feed water control, dump lines, make-up water, miscellaneous process systems, N2 systems, and monitoring/sampling systems.
Features:
  • Valve ratings range from ANSI class 150 to 2500.
  • High cycle life with over 100,000 operations in most applications.
  • Resistant to contamination and sludge buildup.
  • Complies with ASME Section III, Classes 1, 2, and 3.
  • Available in Fail Safe Closed, Fail Safe Open, or Fail in Last Position (Latching) configurations.
  • Equipped with elastomer seats and dynamic seals.
  • Position indication switches are available for remote status indication.
  • Solenoid and switch assemblies are accessible for maintenance without disturbing the pressure boundary.
  • Stress and seismic analysis available.
  • Radiation resistance up to 2x108 rads.
  • Qualified life up to 60 years plus LOCA (Loss of Coolant Accident).
  • Qualified to IEEE standards 323, 344, and 382.
  • Constructed with a 2-piece stainless steel housing.
Design and Reliability: The valve features a balanced disc (poppet) design allowing bi-directional flow and tight sealing. It is noted for its reliability due to a rugged design, simplicity of operation, and minimal moving parts. Isolation standoffs prevent excessive heat transfer to the solenoid operator, and internal parts are contoured to prevent contamination and sludge buildup. The compact and lightweight design offers excellent resistance to seismic vibration and shock. The coil is completely enclosed and encapsulated to ensure continuous operation during a LOCA event.
Specifications:
  • Solenoid Operator: Class H materials or better, available in various AC and DC voltages.
  • Electronic Components: Totally enclosed, meeting a minimum of NEMA 4 standards, and qualified to IEEE 323.
  • Line Connection: Standard socket weld, with optional butt weld or tube extensions.
  • Body Material: Standard stainless steel, with optional carbon steel.
  • Maximum Fluid Temperature: 300°F.
  • Operating Differential Pressure (ΔP): Up to 3000 PSI depending on valve type.
Qualifications: The valve is qualified to IEEE standards 323 (1974, 1983, and later editions), 344 (1975, 1987, and later editions), and 382 (1980, 1996, and later editions). It also complies with ASME B&PV, Section III Class 1, 2, & 3, B16.34, B31.1, and ASME QME-1 (2007 and later editions).

V526B-1

This valve is engineered for liquid or gas applications in the nuclear industry. Typical applications are feed water control systems, dump lines, make-up water, miscellaneous process systems, N2 systems, and monitoring/sampling systems. This design uses a balanced disc (poppet) which permits bidirectional flow and tight sealing in both flow directions. Extreme reliability is inherent due to rugged design, simplicity of operation, and a minimum number of moving parts. Isolation standoffs prevent excessive heat transfer to the solenoid operator. Internal parts are contoured to retard buildup of contamination and sludge. compact, lightweight design provides excellent resistance to seismic vibration and shock. A completely enclosed and encapsulated coil insures continuous operation during a LocA event. • Valve ratings: ANSI class 150 to 2500. • High Cycle life. Over 100,000 operations in most applications. • Resistant to contamination and sludge buildup. • ASME Section III, Classes 1, 2 and 3. • Available Fail Safe Closed, Fail Safe Open or Fail in Last Position (Latching). • Elastomer seats. • Elastomer dynamic seal. • Position indication switches available for remote status indication. • Solenoid and switch assemblies readily accessible for removal or maintenance without disturbing the pressure boundary. • Stress and seismic analysis available. • Radiation resistance: Standard, 2x10A8 rads. • Qualified life: Up to 60 years + LOCA. • Qualified to IEEE 323, 344, 382 • 2-Piece SS Housing © 2016 VALCOR ENGINEERING CORPORATION PH: 973-467-8400 FX: 973-467-9592 WWW.VALCOR.COM
