Advanced Composite Bearings The lightweight, yet robust solution for demanding environments. At Trelleborg Sealing Solutions, we’re experts in innovating and producing high-performance composite parts. Our solutions bring additive manufacturing technology to advanced composites, creating customized parts for critical applications in demanding environments around the world. Material Benefits Our patented Automated Fiber Placement (AFP) technology is a robotic fabrication method for thermoset and thermoplastic composites, which creates high-quality, consistent and repeatable parts using a heating system to bond composite layers to one another. • Can withstand short-term dry running wear AFP is used to manufacture Thermoplastic Composite Bearings that are often used as plain bearings, wear rings and bushings in a wide range of industries. Being non-metal the bearings will not seize or gall and have a low coefficient of friction. Such composite bearings allow tight tolerances for mating parts and high chemical resistance. Bearings are available in standard 6-inch as well as custom lengths of up to 40 feet and diameters to 60 inches in any thickness needed. The high fiber content within the bearing provides excellent bearing strength, outperforming typical chopped fiber composite solutions, and a near zero coefficient of thermal expansion in the circumferential direction. Tailorable expansion coefficients are available by altering the laminate layup architecture. • Will not seize or gall • 525 °F continuous service temperature • Allows tight tolerances mating components • Lightweight with high specific strength • Nearly zero CTE with traditional layup • Higher CTE available • High chemical resistance: Continuous Carbon Fiber/PEEK • Nearly zero m

The application limits for pressure, temperature, speed and media given are maximum values determined in laboratory conditions. In application, due to the interaction of operating parameters, maximum values may not be achieved. It is vital therefore, that customers satisfy themselves as to the suitability of product and material for each of their...
