Product catalog summary
Overview: TIMETAL 75A is a commercially pure titanium alloy equivalent to ASTM Grade 4. It is known for its high strength among commercially pure titanium grades, good ductility, and moderate formability. It maintains a favorable strength-to-weight ratio at moderate temperatures and is suitable for continuous service up to 800°F (425°C) and intermittent service up to 1000°F (540°C).
Chemical Composition: The alloy primarily consists of titanium, with oxygen (0.40%), nitrogen (0.05%), carbon (0.08%), iron (0.50%), hydrogen (0.015%), and residual elements each at 0.10% and a total of 0.40%.
Physical Properties: The density is 4.51 g/cm³, with a beta transus temperature of 950°C. It has a thermal conductivity of 16.95 W/m·K and an electrical resistivity of 0.60 µΩ·m. The material is nonmagnetic and has a mean coefficient of thermal expansion ranging from 8.6 x 10-6 m/m·°C to 9.7 x 10-6 m/m·°C depending on the temperature range.
Mechanical Properties: Typical mechanical properties include an ultimate tensile strength (UTS) and 0.2% yield strength (YS) with elongation and reduction in area percentages provided for various conditions. The material exhibits good impact properties at low temperatures and can be welded, machined, cold worked, hot worked, and cast.
Heat Treatment: The document outlines annealing and stress-relieving processes, with specific temperatures and cooling methods.
Fatigue and Tensile Properties: The document provides data on ultimate fatigue limits and tensile strength across various temperatures, highlighting the material's performance under cyclic loading conditions.
Technical Support: For further information, contact details for TIMET's sales offices and technical support centers in North America and Europe are provided.

TIMETAL 75A-1

TIMETAL® 75A COMMERCIALLY PURE TITANIUM TIMETAL 75A is equivalent to ASTM Grade 4. It has the highest str ength of the four ASTM commercially pure titanium grades in addition to good ductility and moderate formability. The benefits of the good strength to weight ratio of TIMETAL 75A are retained at moderate temperatures. TIMETAL 75A is typically used in continuous service up to 800°F (425°C) and in intermittent service up to 1000°F (540°C). It also has good impact properties at low temperatures. In addition, TIMETAL 75A can be satisfactorily welded, machined, cold worked, hot worked, and cast. * Typical values at room temperature of about 68-78°F (20-25°C) TYPICAL MECHANICAL PROPERTIES UTS 0.2% YS Elongation Reduction in Area Bend
