General Description The Telex Models A-610-1 and A-610-2 are economical, lightweight aviation headphones featuring magnetic receivers. The A-610-1 has vinyl ear cushions, and the A-610-2 has molded plastic earcups. The Model MRB-600 is a lightweight headset that features magnetic receivers, vinyl ear cushions and a boom-mounted, noise-canceling carbon microphone. A-610-1 and A-610-2 are approved under FAA - TSO C57. Design Features The receiver housings are constructed of high-impact plastic. The headband consists of two spring-steel wires sheathed in vinyl. The headband wires extend down through slots in each receiver housing and provide a minimum of 2-1/2 inches (63.5 mm) vertical adjustment. The headband wires terminate in plastic dress caps to prevent disengagement of the receivers housings. The receiver housings are capable of limited rotation to fit the head contour. The MRB-600 microphone boom is a square aluminum extrusion. It adjusts back and forth at least four inches (101.6 mm), and rotates 310 degrees to permit the microphone to be used on either the left or right side. The microphone is contained in a high impact plastic housing with front and back plastic mesh grills to prevent foreign particles from reaching the diaphragm. For best noise cancellation the microphone should be positioned as close to the mouth as possible. A position at one side of the mouth is best to minimize popping, hissing and breathing sounds when speaking.
