Essence Carpet Cleaning Instructions

Product catalog summary
Cleaning & Care Overview
Routine maintenance and cleaning are essential for preserving the long-term appearance of carpets and rugs. No carpet is completely resistant to all types of damage, so regular care is necessary.
Vacuuming Guidelines
  • Vacuuming is the most crucial maintenance step for removing dry soil. It requires at least four slow passes back and forth in the same area.
  • For cut pile wool products, use a dual motor vacuum with brush rolls. For loop pile wool products, a suction-only vacuum is recommended.
  • Avoid using vacuums with beater bars and ensure the vacuum cleaner has a manual adjusting head.
  • Change vacuum bags before they are two-thirds full for optimal performance.
Spot Cleaning Instructions
  • Address spills and spots immediately, as dried spills are harder to remove.
  • Use spot cleaners with the Wool Safe Label for Essence carpets.
  • For wool or wool blends, use cleaning chemicals with a pH range of 5.5 to 8.0 to avoid fiber damage.
  • Blot liquids with white paper towels or absorbent cloths and scoop solids with a blunt knife or spoon.
  • Apply spot removal agents to a clean towel or cloth, not directly on the spot, and use small quantities to prevent spreading.
  • Blot dry with a clean white towel and pre-test cleaning agents in an inconspicuous area to ensure they do not remove color.

Essence Carpet Cleaning Instructions-1

Essence Carpet Collection: Hastings, Harrison, Hudson CLEANING & CARE Routine Maintenance & Prevention  No carpet or rug is impervious to everything. Routine care and cleaning are vital to maintaining long-term appearance. Vacuuming  The most important maintenance procedure is the removal of dry soil by vacuuming. Appropriate vacuuming calls for at least four slow passes back and forth in the same area. For cut pile wool products, a dual motor vacuum with brush rolls is suggested. For loop pile wool products, a suction-only vacuuming work best.  Tapis does not recommend vacuums with beater bars.  Vacuum cleaner should have a manual adjusting head.  For best results, change vacuum bags before they become two-thirds full. Spot Cleaning  Spills and spots must be attended to with immediacy, as spills that are allowed to dry are much more difficult to remove.  All spot cleaners used on the Essence carpets should carry the Wool Safe Label.  For wool or wool blends, the pH range of cleaning chemicals should be 5.5 to 8.0. Do not use cleaning chemicals outside this range as damage to the fiber could occur. This requirement is for all chemicals (spot cleaners, pre-sprays, and in-tank) used on wool or wool-blend fibers. Never rub spots or spills on wool carpet; use a blotting action only.  Blot up liquids with white paper towels or absorbent cloth; scoop up solids with the end of a blunt knife or spoon.  Treat the spot according the cleaning instruction guide found below.  Apply spot removal agent to clean towel or cloth, not directly on the spot. Use small quantities at a time. Always work inward from edge to prevent spreading. Do no rub, or over-wet the carpet pile.  Blot as dry as possible with clean white towel.  Always pre-test a cleaning agent in an inconspicuous place to ensure it does not remove color.
