Product catalog summary
Overview
The document outlines the technical specifications, installation procedures, and maintenance guidelines for BEK-K90 and BEK-K30 dampers used in ventilation systems to ensure fire safety. These dampers are designed to meet specific resistance classes and are suitable for various installation environments.
Specifications
  • Resistance Classes: BEK-K90 (K90/K60) and BEK-K30 (K30/0).
  • Test Certificates: BEK-K90 (Z-41.3-325) and BEK-K30 (Z-41.3-333).
  • Sizes Available: NW 100/125/160/200.
  • Release Temperature: 72°C.
Installation Guidelines
  • Suitable for installation into brickwork, concrete floors, and light partition walls.
  • Requires a mounting frame (ED for brickwork/concrete, EW-L for light partitions).
  • Surrounding gaps should be filled with mortar or gypsum.
  • Ventilation ducts must not exert significant forces on the dampers.
Key Features
  • Safety: Officially classified for fire resistance, ensuring flame stability and maximum sealing.
  • Noise Level: Low noise with high airflow rate, suitable for any airflow direction.
  • Maintenance: Regular servicing is recommended to ensure fail-safe operation.
Installation Examples
  • Installation into brickwork or concrete requires a minimum wall thickness of 100 mm.
  • For overflow openings, the wall frame should be extended by 1.5 times the diameter.
  • Use of VMT disk valves or metal mesh grids for resistance class without ducts.
Accessories
  • Electrical Limit Switch (MS-E): Provides position indication (open/closed) with specific wiring requirements.
  • Inspection Facilities: Include RT inspection tee, SNP-S male sleeve connection, and NP male-male connector.
Technical Data
  • Damper Length: 72.5 mm.
  • Mounting Frame Length: 210 mm.
  • Weight: Varies by size, from ~2.5 kg to ~5.1 kg.
Maintenance
Dampers should be serviced twice a year to ensure proper functioning, especially in environments with polluted or humid air. Maintenance should be conducted annually if no malfunctions are detected, and it is recommended to include damper maintenance in ventilation system contracts. Testing involves checking the integrity of the fusible link and ensuring the damper operates smoothly. If faults are found, they must be addressed immediately using original parts.
Installation
Strulik dampers come with an ETERDUCT mounting frame. Proper installation ensures the damper functions correctly and maintains its integrity.

Test certificate Z-41.3-325 Resistance class K90/K60 NW 100/125/160 and 200 Mounting frame for the installation into: ED brickwork or concrete floor EW-L light partition walls, metal support walls EW-L-40 light partition walls, wall thickness 40 mm Test certificate Z-41.3-333 Resistance class K30/0 Essential advantages • • Accessories (optional): MS-E electrical limit switch RT inspection tee SNP-S male sleeve connection NP male-male connector VMT disk valve for overflow opening The BEK-K90 is suitable for the installation into light F90 and F30 partition walls. The damper is mounted directly into the fire protected zone. The effectiveness of the fire protection is guaranteed by the butterfly blades. The dampers may even be mounted subsequently into ventilation systems in order to meet the effective fire prevention requirements. No special fixing arrangements are required (i.e. saving of time and high economy). Essential features 1/ Safety classification. • Official classification: Resistance class K90 and K30 • Release from 72 °C upwards • Maximum sealing between the body and the blades • Flame stability 2/ Low noise level • Insignificant reduction of cross-sectional area • High airflow rate • Any direction of airflow 3/ Sizes available • NW 100/125/160 and 200 Safety The Strulik BEK-K90 and K30 dampers have been submitted to many test series in Germany and abroad. These test series did not only include the effectiveness of FIRE PROTECTION and FLAME TIGHTNESS, but also the STABILITY OF FLAMES and the correct functioning of the FUSIBLE LINK. In Germany the damper has been tested against fire and smoke in accordance with the principles of construction and testing of the "Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik" in Berlin. The expert opinion for a K90 and K30 resistance class has been prepared by the "Institut für Haustechnik" of the Technical University of Munich. VdS in Cologne has prepared the test report on the release mechanism for an activation temperature of 72 °C in accor
