„2+1“ Filter Upgrade for The upgrade of the „2+1“ Filter Solution is intended for SLM 280 machines currently in use. This upgrade can be integrated in machines which are equipped with a filter switching unit. Two standard main filters operated in parallel have nearly twice the filter lifetime compared to two switched filters reducing consumable costs and double the time until manual intervention becomes necessary. The additional second stage fine filter only needs to be replaced on every fourth exchange of the main filters and ensures an extremely low particle concentration, also immediately after inserting fresh main filters. It also acts as a safety net protecting the gas circulation pump in case of wrongly inserted or damaged main filters.
