SITTI is constantly meeting the challenges in the study and development of world leading and standard compliant Operational and Technical solutions for integrated Voice Communication Systems (VCS). SITTI has also a leader position in the design and production of high level complementary products, like operational Workstation Consoles, ranging from small Control Towers to large Air Traffic Control Radar and Procedural Centres. All consoles offer flexibility in design and equipment mounting, making them ideal for applications where ergonomic and operational requirements dictate, such as Emergency Management Operative Rooms etc. The User at the Core ATC Controllers are tasked with a heavy and responsible workload, and as such they require an ergonomic and easy-to-use environment to access e.g. Radar, Communications and Ancillary Services. In line with these requirements, SITTI Workstation Consoles are designed with high consideration for Operator comfort and fatigue related factors whilst providing efficient and effective access to equipment and services. Research, use of suitable materials, installation criteria form the basis of the design of workstations for long term daily use: • Flexibility - taking into consideration evolving controller requirements and equipment expansion • Efficient Integration - for space optimisation • User Friendliness - for handy access to displays and communication equipment • Ergonomic and Comfort Factors - to ease long hours use • Suitable Materials - for long lasting, ease of installation, maintenance and workplace comfort • Operational Health Protection - to grant a safe environment The user is at the core of SITTI interest when it comes to consoles. Design criteria also take into consideration such aspects as choice of materials, seating adjustment, optimisation of viewing angles and conditions, noise isolation and ventilation, touch and feel aspects, as well as the correct positioning of communication elements (keyboards, connector panels, loudspeaker location etc). Flexible hardware design, modular components, specific construction solutions, all contribute to the common goal of providing Customers with the most advanced yet friendly consoles that will result in a higher efficiency of the operators, who will get the best from the touch and feel approach of SITTI console design. Whilst flexibility of design allows SITTI to meet any specific customised requirements, three main console series have been developed meeting most of today's common applications. The design of the AVT Console is the result of the company longstanding involvement in the Air Traffic Control and Control Room environments. The AVT console family design takes into account technological trends which see information, normally displayed on individual instruments or indicators, being consolidated and concentrated into multifunctional terminals. Integrated Systems for Air Traffic Control and Control Room Management Variable height of the shelf The height of the work surface is adjustable through the use of electrical actuators. This adds flexibility to the AVT consoles, that can be designed for both sitting and standing operation with comfort for individual users. The total adjustment is around 400 mm.
