Product catalog summary
Visual Alignment Guidance System Overview
This document outlines the specifications and operational details of a Visual Alignment Guidance System designed for airports and heliports. The system provides approach azimuth guidance and threshold identification through two flashing units (master and slave) positioned symmetrically on both sides of the runway or TLOF for heliports.

Compliance and Standards
The system complies with ICAO Annex 14, Volume II - Heliports, 4th Edition, 5.3.5, ensuring adherence to international aviation standards.

Features
  • High power LED technology for efficient lighting.
  • Lightweight and environmentally friendly design using aluminium alloys.
  • Remote control capability with three brightness levels: 10%, 30%, and 100%.
  • Equipped with anti-condensation valves and focused LEDs.

Product Specifications
  • Product Code: AL-087-02-WH
  • Housing: Powder-coated aluminium in aviation yellow.
  • Dispenser: Hardened glass.
  • Cable gland: Nickel-plated brass.
  • Fasteners: Stainless steel.

Operational Details
The system operates by providing visual signals to pilots based on their position relative to the approach axis. Within a 1° angular sector, the lights flash simultaneously. Within a 30° sector, the lights flash in sequence with a delay of 0 to 330 ms, indicating the direction of the axis.

Mechanical and Electrical Characteristics
  • Power consumption: Maximum 25W/hour.
  • Power supply: 48V DC (dimmable) or 110-230 VAC (non-dimmable).
  • Temperature range: -20°C to +50°C (extendable with heating).
  • Protection: IP 65, salt mist tested according to IEC standards.
  • Installation: Frangible bolts with adjustable levelling and rotation.

Photometric Characteristics
  • Light colour: White, meeting ICAO Annex 14 requirements.
  • Light intensity: Average 40,000 cd, comparable to APAPI white intensity.
  • Flash frequency: 1 Hz.
