AeroShell Grease 22

AeroShell Grease 22

Product catalog summary
Typical Physical Characteristics
AeroShell Grease 22 is a synthetic grease designed for aircraft, composed of synthetic hydrocarbon oil and clay thickener. It includes additives for oxidation and corrosion resistance, anti-wear, and load carrying properties. The operating temperature range is from -54°C to +177°C.

Main Applications
This grease is recommended for severe operating conditions such as high bearing loads, high speeds, and wide temperature ranges. It is suitable for aircraft wheel bearings, engine accessories, control systems, actuators, screw-jacks, servo mechanisms, electric motors, helicopter rotor bearings, instruments, airframe lubrication, hinge pins, static joints, and landing gears. It should not be used with incompatible seal materials.

Specifications, Approvals & Recommendations
AeroShell Grease 22 meets several specifications including MIL-PRF-81322G, MIL-PRF-24508B, DEF STAN 91-52, COMAC QPL-CMS-OL-301, DCSEA 395/A, and is an analogue of several Russian standards. It has NATO Code G-395 and Joint Service Designation XG-293.

Properties
The grease is amber in color with a clay thickener. It has a base oil viscosity of 7,500 mm²/s at -40°C, 30.5 mm²/s at 40°C, and 5.7 mm²/s at 100°C. The dropping point is over 300°C, and it shows excellent performance in anti-friction bearing tests and load carrying capacity.

Health, Safety & Environment
The product is not expected to pose significant health or safety hazards if used properly. Users should avoid skin contact and use gloves when handling used oil. Environmental protection measures include taking used oil to authorized collection points and avoiding discharge into drains or water.
