DF100 and Type C/CD

Product catalog summary
Introduction
Saint-Gobain has been a leader in the industrial application of fluorocarbon resins for over 40 years, developing advanced film and tape products using a multi-laminar casting process. The DF100 and Type C/CD films are multilayer cast PTFE films produced through a proprietary process, offering superior uniformity and performance.

Specifications
The DF100 and Type C/CD films are designed for electrical insulation, combining uniform tensile properties, excellent dielectric properties, and isotropic shrinkage with temperature. These films provide a thin product with reduced risk of pinholes.
  • Product Thickness: C/CD - 0.17-0.75 mils, DF100 - 1-5.0 mils
  • Width: Up to 457 mm (18 inches)
  • Customization: Colors and other customizations available upon request

Advantages
  • Thinner gauge PTFE compared to extruded or skived PTFE
  • Multilayer construction reduces pinhole risk
  • Uniform tensile properties in both machine and traverse directions
  • Isotropic shrinkage
  • Superior performance in chemical, thermal, and electrical environments

Typical Physical Properties
  • Tensile Strength: 29.6 MPa (4,300 psi)
  • Elongation: 400%
  • Elastic Modulus: 413 MPa (60,000 psi)
  • Continuous Service Temperature: -188 to 260°C (-400 to 500°F)
  • Dielectric Constant: 2.0 at 60-108 Hz
  • Dielectric Strength: 4200 volts/mil

DF100 and Type C/CD-1

Engineered for Demanding Applications DF100 and Type C/CD Saint-Gobain has been an innovator in the industrial application of fluorocarbon resins for over 40 years. We have pioneered many sophisticated and novel film and tape products using a multi-laminar casting process. Cast PTFE based material is made up of very thin layers which have been individually deposited, Advantages • Thin gauge PTFE, thinner than possible than with Extruded or Skived PTFE • Multilayer construction reduces pinhole risk sintered and fused together to produce a material having more uniform properties than can be achieved by any other manufacturing process. • Uniform Tensile properties in Machine and Traverse direction • Isotropic shrinkage CHEMFILM® type C, type CD (duplex wound) and DF100 are multilayer cast PTFE films produced using a proprietary process. • Superior performance in a wide range of chemical, thermal, and electrical environments Electrical Insulation Combining the uniform tensile properties, excellent dielectric properties, and isotropic shrinkage with temperature DF100, and Type C/CD films act as excellent films for dielectric insulation. When combined with the highly consolidated construction of the film this product is able to provide a thin product, along with a decreased risk of pinholes. Availability • Product thickness: C/CD- 0.170.75 mils, DF100- 1-5.0 mils • Width up to 457 mm (18”) • Colors and customization available on request Multi-layer Cast Film (top) compared to Skived PT
