Let your system evolve through phases Pallet Masters with integrated weighing system at AviaPartner Cargo in Liège (LGG), Belgium New Air Canada Cargo facility at Pierre Elliot Trudeau Airport, Montréal (YUL), Canada Due to major changes of the facilities at Montréal Airport, a new 16,000 m2 cargo terminal was built in the North Cargo Complex for Air Canada Cargo and put into operation in November 2008. Resulting from the contract signed in April 2008, SACO supplied and supervised the installation and commissioning of the ULD handling and storage system with approx. 200 powered roller decks, including: • 2 Transfer vehicles 20ft • 15 Friction powered storage decks (10ft positions) • 30 Friction powered storage decks (2x 10ft positions) • 2 Ball deck areas for flight staging • 11 Right angle decks (RAD) • 6 Turntables with integrated RAD and weighing system • 10 Drive-over lowering workstations 10ft with weighing system • 1 Drive-over lowering workstation 20ft with split operation(2x 10ft) facility and weighing systems • 80 Motor powered roller decks • 22 Motor powered spacer roller decks • 2 Truck docks 20ft with pop-up ball units, winch, and weighing system • 6 Stand-alone floor scales (5ft / 10ft / 20ft) • Slave pallet system The SACO slave pallet system consisting of 100 slave pallets and 2 pallet masters was supplied in phases to APCL’s new cargo facility in Liège in April and November 2008. The system enables a very versatile and flexible handling of ULD’s with slave pallets being used for build and break activities as well as for manoeuvring from airside to landside. The Pallet Masters with unique integrated weighing system have been tested in practice under the most adverse conditions and have proven to be most efficient, accurate and reliable. ULD’s on slave pallets are weighed directly after being built so that the weight information can be processed for weight & balance planning well in advance of actual aircraft loading. The weighing system with electronic load cells is designed in such a way that it can not be damaged during typical heavy warehouse usage with risk of frequent collisions. Nor is the weight result affected by operating temperatures or position of the load on the forks as often seen with other (hydraulic) weighing systems.
