AIRPORT EQUIPMENT Cargo Handling Systems With this edition of our Newsletter we would like to update you on our activities and events around the globe. DHL BUILDS NEW BRUSSELS HUB, BELGIUM In 2015 DHL started the construction of a new state-of-the-art 31,500 m2 express parcel sorting centre at Brussels Airport to further strengthen the position of Brussels within the European and worldwide DHL network Following positive experience during the DHL Leipzig Hub project, SACO again received the order to design, supply and install the ULD handling equipment including a total of 11,000 m2 castor deck and 250 reload/offload roller decks fitted with integrated weighing equipment. The scope also includes 10 truck docks, lowering workstations, 4 ULD hoists, 28 automated landside/airside airlocks, and PLC systems to control and monitor the ULD loading and unloading operations. The first phase was installed in Summer 2016, the remainder is planned for completion during 2017. ROADFEEDERS NEW CARGO TERMINAL AT OSLO AIRPORT, NORWAY, SITUATED AT GARDERMOEN During 2015/2016 Roadfeeders AS realized a brand new cargo terminal at Oslo’s Gardermoen Airport. The 8,000 m2 facility was opened in July 2016 and is dedicated for handling perishable cargo with cool and cold store sections as well as a separate general cargo area. A significant portion of handling activities are related to the famous Norwegian Salmon which is exported all over the globe. SACO was commissioned to supply and install all ULD handling equipment including three truck dock lanes for ULD transfer at landside, three dolly transfer lanes at airside and five lowering workstations for pallet build and break down. The SACO slave pallet system is used for transfer between landside, airside and the workstations whilst also creating additional workstations when required. Open the catalog to page 1SACO’S FIRST ETV SYSTEM OPERATIONAL IN THE SOUTH PACIFIC SACO EXPANDS AND RENOVATES Following a period of detailed preparations with the end-user, SACO supplied the first fully automated ETV system in the South Pacific. The system was commissioned in June 2016 and includes a 4 level 15ft ETV designed and built by SACO with a storage rack for 300 ULD positions, lowering build/break stations, dolly docks and truck docks. The FOX cargo IT system enables full remote and automated control of the handling/storage equipment through Profibus links with the various PLC’s and SCADA visualisation. The...
