Engine Overview
The 916 iS A | iSc A | iS C24 | iSc C24 160 HP engine is a four-stroke piston engine featuring four liquid and air-cooled cylinders. It includes redundant electronic fuel injection and ignition systems, an eco mode, and a turbocharger with a stainless steel exhaust. The engine is equipped with a dry sump forced lubrication system with a separate oil tank and automatic adjustment by hydraulic valve tappets. It also features an Engine Management System (EMS), an electric starter (12 or 24 Volt), a propeller speed reduction gearbox, and an intercooler. The engine has a Time Between Overhaul (TBO) of 2,000 hours and can operate at a maximum altitude of 23,000 feet, with a critical altitude of 15,000 feet for maximum continuous power.
