Product catalog summary
Overview
Durostone® CF is a high-strength, carbon fibre reinforced composite material designed for high-tech applications. It offers a superior strength-to-weight ratio, making it ideal for applications requiring both mechanical strength and lightweight properties.
Technical Specifications
  • Specific Gravity: 1.5 - 1.6 g/cm³
  • Bending Strength: 850 - 1,400 N/mm²
  • Bending Modulus: 70,000 - 200,000 N/mm²
  • Tensile Strength: 900 - 2,100 N/mm²
  • Tensile Modulus: 88,000 - 245,000 N/mm²
  • Compression Strength: 120 - 420 N/mm²
  • Impact Strength: 90 - 240 kJ/m²
  • Water Absorption: 0.01 - 0.2%
Material Composition
Carbon fibres are extremely thin, with diameters ranging from 0.005 to 0.010 mm, composed mostly of carbon atoms. These fibres are aligned in a unidirectional crystal structure, providing exceptional strength and low density compared to steel.
Manufacturing Technologies
  • Pultrusion: Used for creating profiles and rods.
  • Filament Winding: Used for producing wound parts.
These technologies allow for variations in material properties based on the type of carbon fibres, their textile structure, and the resin used.
Applications
Durostone® CF composites are suitable for applications that demand high mechanical strength and low weight, benefiting from their low thermal expansion and high tensile strength.
Remarks
The material properties provided are average values and may vary. No guarantees are implied from this description.

Rochling use filament winding and pultrusion technology to produce Durostone® CF products Carbon fibres are extremely thin fibres of about 0.005 - 0.010 mm in diameter and composed mostly of carbon atoms. The carbon atoms are bonded together in microscopic crystals that are more or less aligned parallel to the long axis of the fibre. This unidirectional crystal alignment makes the fibre very strong for its size. The density of carbon fibre is also considerably lower than the density of steel, making it ideal for light weight applications. In Durostone® CF carbon fibre reinforced composites several...
