RM-3006 Bismaleimide (BMI) Paste Adhesive is designed for high-performance aerospace applications, operating effectively between -65°F to 400°F (-54°C to 204°C). It is compatible with Renegade's BMI Prepregs, Infusion Resins, and other standard BMI systems and metals. Renegade offers flexible purchasing options without minimum order quantities and maintains key raw materials for short lead times.
Physical Properties
At room temperature, RM-3006 has a cured density of 1.21 g/cc and a Shore D hardness of 89, as per ASTM D 792 and ASTM D 2240 standards, respectively.
Storage and Handling
RM-3006 can be stored at room temperature for up to four weeks and should be carefully resealed before refreezing. Its frozen shelf life is one year from the date of shipment.
Cure Cycle
The recommended cure cycle involves heating the adhesive to 150-160°F for 5-10 minutes. The process includes a freestanding cure using deadweight, clamps, or a press, with specific temperature and time guidelines:
- Heat to 375 ± 10°F at 1 to 5°F per minute, not exceeding 390°F.
- Hold at 375 ± 10°F for 360 ± 20 minutes.
- Raise temperature to 440 ± 15°F at a maximum of 5°F per minute.
- Hold at 440 ± 15°F for 360 ± 20 minutes.
- Cool to 150°F or below at a rate not exceeding 5°F per minute.
Mechanical Properties
RM-3006 exhibits the following mechanical properties:
- Compression Strength: 23,000 psi at room temperature, 11,100 psi at 350°F (177°C), tested per ASTM D 695.
- Lap Shear Strength: 1997 psi at room temperature, 885 psi at 350°F, tested per ASTM D 1002.

Notes: Adhesive testing done on 2024-T3 aluminum (AMS 4037) cleaned by phosphoric acid anodizing (ASTM D 3933) and bonded within eight (8) hours. Renegade Recommended Cure Cycle for RM-3006 RM-3006 should be heated to about 150 - 160oF for 5 - 10 minutes and then used like a standard paste adhesive. Renegade's recommended cure process combines the cure and post cure cycle into one out of autoclave cure schedule. The cure shall be done freestanding using deadweight, clamps or a press. Step 1.
