The main windshield is a glass-faced polycarbonate-acrylic laminate, combining the toughness and chemical resistance properties of glass with the weight-saving benefits of plastic. Two polycarbonate main plies provide high impact resistance and have a high strength-to-weight ratio, while an acrylic inboard ply affords scratch resistance. PPG Aerospace produces original-equipment transparencies for Legacy 600 and Legacy 650 airplanes.
