Product catalog summary
Overview: This document provides comprehensive details on Micronic Filters used in aviation fuel handling, focusing on Parker Velcon's filter cartridges. It covers specifications, applications, and benefits of these filters in aviation fuel systems.
1. Distribution System for Clean Dry Aviation Fuel: The document outlines a typical aviation fuel distribution system, emphasizing the role of prefilters, filter/separators, dehydrators, and clay treaters in delivering clean and dry fuel. These components are crucial for extending the life of coalescer and separator cartridges.
2. Filter/Separator Categories and Types: Filters are categorized by fuel type: Category C for commercial aviation turbine fuels, Category M for military aviation turbine fuels, and Category M100 for JP-8 fuels with enhanced thermal stability. Three vessel types are described: Type S for significant water and dirt, Type S-LD for significant water and low dirt, and Type S-LW for significant dirt and low water.
3. EI1590 Qualified Filters: Parker Velcon's filters meet EI Specification 1590, offering up to three times the solids capacity of regular pleated paper cartridges. Features include a large surface area, resin impregnated microglass media, and high collapse strength, suitable for a wide range of fluids and primarily used as prefilters in jet fuel systems.
4. Pleated Media Filter Cartridges (FO Series): These cartridges provide high efficiency and long life, with specifications such as 75 psi collapse strength, a 5-9 operating pH range, and a maximum operating temperature of 250°F. They are recommended for applications with granular contaminants.
5. Fuel Filter (FOW Series): Designed for solids removal, these filters protect against solids in pre-mixed fuel with anti-icing additives. They feature conductive end caps to reduce static charge and have a rugged construction with a 175 psi collapse strength.
6. Disposable Cartridges (DC Series): These cartridges are disposable, crushable, and incinerable, offering a cost-efficient recycling method. They provide 98% filtration efficiency with micron ratings of 1 and 5 microns.
7. Permanent Filter Core Kits: These kits support DC Series disposable cartridges, designed for easy installation and removal, featuring high-quality aluminum construction and 175 psi collapse strength.
Overview of Permanent Support Tube Kits and FI Series Inside-Out-Flow Filters: The document details Parker Velcon Permanent Support Tube Kits and FI Series Inside-Out-Flow Filters for filter/separator vessels, including specifications, applications, and guidelines for filter sizing and housing selection.
Permanent Support Tube Kits: Compatible with Parker Velcon "DC" disposable cartridges or Facet CIF Series cartridges, these kits replace Facet CIF Series Center Tube Kits.
FI Series Inside-Out-Flow Filters: Designed to replace coalescer elements in filter-separator vessels, these filters reduce filtration costs and remove particulate matter. Key features include 98% filtration efficiency, durable thermoset adhesive material, Buna-N gaskets, coated steel components, and 75 psi burst strength.
Applications: Suitable for a wide range of fluids, including hydrocarbon fuels, glycols, water emulsion coolants, and various oils.
Specifications: 75 psi burst strength, 98% nominal filtration efficiency, operating pH range of 5 - 9, maximum operating temperature of 160°F, micron ratings from 0.5, inside-to-out flow, and change out at 15 psid for aviation applications.
Cartridge Information: Lists various FI Series cartridge models, dimensions, nominal micron ratings, and material features.
Filter Sizing and Housing Selection: Guidelines for selecting filter cartridges and housings based on desired flow rates and pressure drops, recommending cartridge changes at a 25 psi differential or per company procedures.
Contact Information: Provides contact details for regional sales and market development managers for further assistance.
