The Model 5608 is a self-contained permanent magnet generator designed to provide reliable DC power to the flight control electronics of the Bell 609 tilt rotor aircraft. It consists of a rotor, stator, and an output rectifier stage. The rotor is segmented and sleeved, supported by two precise bearings within the stator. The stator features epoxy-bonded laminations with a single, three-phase, wye-connected winding, connected to integrated diodes for rectification.
