FLIGHT DATA PROCESSING SYSTEM PLANETA Flight Data Processing (FDP) system designed for zone and enlarged Air Traffic Control centers, terminal and airport information systems is one of the main products made by NITA. PLANETA FDP system is the first certified system of automated flight data processing and air flow management in Russia. The system provides: • preliminary, 24-hour, and current flight planning (for region or whole country) • FDP and air navigation data to ATC units, interacting automated ATC and FDP systems • interaction with data exchange networks (AFTN, AMHS, etc.) • estimation of flight intensity at an airfield, zone, ATC sector or in particular point of an airway • airspace use statistics and reports Calculation of expected traffic intensity allows airport operational supervisors and operational managers to arrange work in ATC areas and work of aircraft ground services with regard to the capacities available. This is especially important in case of faults or failures when fast-response planning and coordination of all traffic controller stations and services of the airport are required. PLANETA system integrated with the airport information/reference system equipment enables fast and reliable information delivery to personnel of all airport services, ensures identical information on display panels, and prevents errors caused by distortions. The FDP system is recommended by the Ministry of Transportation of Russian Federation for civil aviation companies, and is certified by the Interstate Aviation Committee.
