Introduction of Rotax 915 iS Engine

The Rotax 915 iS engine is a new 4-stroke, 4-cylinder turbocharged aircraft engine with an intercooler and redundant fuel injection system. It was introduced to meet the market demand for a modern, more powerful engine that allows for higher payloads and shorter take-offs. The engine is set for serial production in the second half of 2017.

Market Position and Distribution

Rotax aircraft engines have sold over 175,000 units in 40 years, leading the light sport and ultra-light aircraft market. With 19 authorized distributors and over 220 points of sale and repair centers globally, Rotax engines are supplied to more than 80% of aircraft manufacturers in its segment.

Technical Specifications

The Rotax 915 iS engine is based on the proven Rotax 912/914 series, offering more power and the best power-to-weight ratio in its class. It provides full take-off power up to at least 15,000 feet and a service ceiling of 23,000 feet. The engine delivers 135 horsepower, enhancing performance for larger and heavier aircraft, including gyrocopters.

The Kallithea gyrocopter, known for its elegant design and spacious cockpit, can be equipped with the Rotax 915 iS engine. This gyrocopter features a carbon fiber construction, adjustable carbon seats, and standard avionics, offering pilots a competitive advantage.
