In particular the system is capable to provide, via internet, very innovative shipping management services. Using RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) technology and/or bar codes, SIMS allows a precise traceability at all stages of goods shipment. The integrated monitoring of the transported packages during their loading and unloading phases, coupled with the vehicle’s (if GPS equipped) geographical location, allows to know in real time the goods’ last received geographic position, both inside and outside the warehouse. Based on web technology, SIMS is the perfect solution for those transport/shipping companies, operating in both a national and international wide distribution, and that aims to acquire and/or upgrade their shipping management system.
