Exchangeable Head End Mills Special steel screw joint Available with internal coolant Double face contact (Taper + End face) Mono-block carbide holder Solid carbide Solid carbide The iMX series is a revolutionary end mill system that enables efficiency, high accuracy and rigidity by combining the advantages of both solid carbide and indexable end mills. Security and rigidity close to that of a solid type end mill because the clamping faces are all carbide. Excellent for reduced inventory over a variety of applications due to the exchangeable head.

Smart Miracle (EP7020) Smart Miracle is a newly developed (Al, Cr)N group coating which delivers substantially better wear resistance. The surface of the coating has been given a smoothening treatment resulting in better machined surfaces, reduced cutting resistance and improved chip discharge. This is the next generation of coated end mills that delivers long tool life when machining stainless steel and other difficult-to-cut materials. Smoothened “ZERO-µ Surface” Newly developed(Al, Cr)N group coating Super-fine-particle, super-hard base material EP7020 is a new grade that enables...

Comparison of economy Exchangeable head end mills have a cost advantage compared to solid end mills. In a comparison test against a ø10mm corner radius end mill, the iMX type was shown to become more cost effective at the point where a 3rd solid end mill was needed. In addition performance doesn’t deteriorate with iMX, but the re-grinding of solid end mills results in changes of dimension and shorter tool life. a ø 10 corner radius end mill Total cost (Solid End Mill = 100 ) Solid end mill: regrinding×2 1st Solid end mill 1 Usage count * The above is for reference only. Results may vary...

*P!ease use the same diameter holder as the head. How to install the head • Before installing the head, thoroughly clean all contact faces. Applying anti seize compound to the thread is recommended, but do not apply to the taper faces. • Use the wrench provided to tighten until there is no clearance between the head and holder end face. • The recommended tightening torque is shown in the table below. *Note 1) Do not handle cutting edges with bare hands. *Note 2) Please use the wrench provided. It is thinner than a standard wrench to prevent damage to the flutes when tightening. S :...

4-flute corner variable curve radius (with / without coolant holes) 1) The use of cutting fluid is recommended when machining stainless steels, titanium and heat resistant alloys. 2) Higher feeds and speeds can be used for smaller depths of cut. 3) Chattering can still occur if the machine rigidity and clamping method are insufficient. In these cases the feed and speed should be reduced proportionately.

RECOMMENDED CUTTING CONDITIONS ■ Shoulder milling 1) The use of cutting fluid is recommended when machining stainless steels, titanium and heat resistant alloys. 2) If the depth of cut is shallow, the revolution and feed rate can be increased. 3) The irregular helix flute end mill has a larger effect on controlling vibration when compared to standard end mills. However, if the rigidity of the machine or the workpiece installation is poor, vibration or abonrmal sound can occur. In this case, please reduce the revolution and feed rate proportionately, or set a lower depth of cut. 4) a is the...
