Flameproof RTD sensors are engineered to contain and prevent explosions from spreading to the surrounding environment. They are suitable for use in hazardous locations, specifically Zone 1 or Zone 2, and are approved under IEC/EN 60079-0, IEC/EN 60079-1, and the ATEX directive 94/9/EC. These sensors feature a tip-sensitive, stainless steel or MgO filled RTD probe for fast response and include a spring-loaded holder for optimal probe contact. They are available with U.S. or metric threads.
- Temperature Range: -50 to 260°C (-58 to 500°F).
- Material: Stainless steel with copper alloy tip for tip-sensitive probes; all stainless steel for other RTDs and fittings.
- Connection Head: Options include 316 stainless steel (IP66), aluminum alloy (IP65), or epoxy-coated aluminum alloy (IP66).
- Pressure Rating: 50 psi (3.4 bar) for spring-loaded holder; 100 psi (6.9 bar) for fluid seal fitting.
- Insulation Resistance: Minimum of 100 megohms at 100 VDC.
- Connection: Terminal block for wires up to AWG 14.
- Time Constant: In moving water, 1.5 seconds for single element tip-sensitive, 7 seconds for dual element, and 10 seconds for all stainless and MgO filled.
- Special Options: Higher temperature ranges available.
