The active Runway-Sensor ARS31 is flush mounted in the pavement and determines the freezing temperature by active cooling and heating of sensor surface. The measured value of freezing temperature is independent from road salt concentration. The sensor casing consisting of two parts allows to change/replace the combined Sensors/Electronics unit for maintenance in every moment in few minutes. The sensor can be integrated into new and existing UMB-networks using converter. Combination of passive probe IRS31 and active probe ARS31 is possible and recommended. The probes are addressable and can be networked.
