Lightweight Data Recorder The L3 Lightweight Data Recorder (LDR) is a small, lightweight package providing crashprotected recording of audio, image and flight data on small General Aviation (GA) helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. Any subset of the total LDR capability can be utilized for any particular installation not intended for regulatory-mandated applications. While some installations may make use of only the audio and image recording capability, others may want to exploit the full audio, image, data (ARINC 717 or ARINC 429) and GPS recording. Use of U.S. DoD visual information does not imply or constitute DoD endorsement. A built-in web server makes it easy for data retrieval and configuration with just a laptop and web-browser. No expensive software or complicated cabling is required for on-aircraft downloads.
