Overview of ITT Facilities
ITT has inaugurated a new Center of Excellence in Nogales, Mexico, complementing its Valencia, CA facility. This site is dedicated to the manufacturing of Environmental Control Systems (ECS) products, including composite ducts, flexible hoses, elastomeric bellows, and electric heaters, with over 100,000 square feet of manufacturing space.

Composite Cell

Features two Class 10,000 Controlled Contamination Areas (CCA) Rooms.
Equipped with four large electric ovens and 18 layup stations.
Includes Lectra and Eastman cutting machines, a vacuum table, and honeycomb core processing.

Elastomeric Cells

13 layup stations for elastomeric hoses and 16 for ducting and connectors.
Six large electric ovens and hybrid elastomeric/composite capabilities.

Environmental Monitored Area (EMA) Bond Room

Handles insulation for composite and elastomeric materials.
Processes honeycomb core for both composite and metal.

Finish Product Room

Facilities for sanding, grinding, cutting, and trimming.

Quality and Test Room

Equipped with 9’ FARO EDGE for tensile and peel testing.
Includes Romer and CMM machine measurement capabilities, pressure and leak testing, endurance cycling at temperature, deflection testing, and heat aging.

Material Handling

Features walk-in freezers and refrigerators, and Fastenal “SmartStore” tool and supply vending.

Machine Shop

Offers Nakamura & Matsura multi-axis capabilities.

Certifications

AS-9100 and ISO 9001 certified.
EASA and FAA approved, with Nadcap composite manufacturing certification.

Manufacturing and Engineering Capabilities

State-of-the-art manufacturing with six large Wisconsin ovens and three autoclaves for BMI prepregs.
Composite lay-up in a Class 10,000 CCA room with controlled temperature, humidity, and pressure.
Pattern cutting using Lectra machines to minimize waste.
Engineering team designs components to maximize strength and minimize weight and cost, using tools like Catia, Solid Works, and ProE for complete ECS solutions.
