INDRA MODERNIZES CHILEAN AIR TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS Indra’s Air Traffic Management system at a Chilean Control Center Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil (DGAC) and Indra have completed the modernization of ACCs at Iquique, Puerto Montt and Punta Arenas and the APPs at Concepción and Antofagasta Indra consolidates its position as DGAC’s technological partner for the deployment of the latest Air Traffic Management systems Indra has equipped Iquique, Puerto Montt and Punta Arenas En-Route Control Centers and Concepción and Antofagasta Approach Control Centers with its advanced Air Traffic Management system, designed to handle traffic in even the most complex airspaces, furnishing the DGAC with outstanding safety and efficiency standards. Deployment of the system will help reduce the separation distance required between aircraft, thus driving up Chilean airspace capacity. Furthermore, the system supports automatic coordination between national and international control centers, which allows for faster flight transfers. Hence, Indra’s ATM system will allow Chile to manage Air Traffic Management services more efficiently, helping to ensure strict compliance among air traffic controllers. Indra has deployed simulation systems at the Iquique and Puerto Montt control centers to support continuous training for controllers. The simulator is a duplicate of the real system, meaning training can be run with absolute realism while in a safe environment and can also serve as a backup system or test platform if required. Indra leads the modernization of ATM technology in the Latam region where has supplied over 400 ATM/CNS systems in 25 countries, including over 120 Automation systems in the most important Air Traffic Control centers and over 50 Primary and Secondary Surveillance Radars.
