Product catalog summary
Aurora-Torsion Overview
Aurora-Torsion is a component of the Aurora Analysis system, designed for comprehensive analysis of shaft twist data. It processes pulse event data from engine shaft probes to calculate shaft twist, generating calibrated torsion files for detailed examination in the Aurora-RawViewer module.

Key Features
  • Interactive Viewing: Allows for detailed examination of torsion and raw data with cursor interrogation.
  • Worldwide Connectivity: Utilizes a thin client/server architecture for global access.
  • Multifunction Plot Types: Offers various plotting options for data visualization.
  • Smoothing Option: Users can apply a rolling average to smooth torsion and speed data.
  • FFT Analysis Option: Enables FFT on phase and torque data, converting data to a frequency domain for analysis.
  • Characterisation for Absolute Twist Analysis: Facilitates pulse event characterization for accurate twist analysis.

Processing Capabilities
Users can request torsion and torque processing, specifying the method of torque computation. The system characterizes channel data for pulse identification, allowing for seamless analysis of engine maneuvers without assumptions about twist changes.

Data Visualization
Processed torsion files can be viewed in the Aurora-RawViewer module, where torsion data can be superimposed over raw data in an amplitude vs. time plot. FFT analysis re-samples phase and torque data to produce frequency domain data.

Dynamic Solutions For A Testing World Overview AURORA TORSION Interactive Analysis of Shaft Twist Data • Interactive viewing Worldwide connectivity • Multifunction plot types • Smoothing option • FFT Analysis option Aurora-Torsion is part of the Aurora Analysis system, an integrated analysis platform that provides all the tools and capabilities required for summary and detailed analysis of both time and frequency domain data from a single application window. The Aurora-Torsion application processes pulse event data from probes either end of the engine shaft, using the difference in time of arrival of pulses to calculate the twist of the shaft. Calibrated Torsion processed files are generated which can be viewed and interrogated in the Aurora-RawViewer module. Dynamic Solutions For A Testing World Users can submit Torsion processing requests which are performed by the Torsion server. The user specifies whether they wish to perform Torque processing in addition to the Twist processing and which method of Torque computation to use. Characterisation of the channel data for pulse identification/ numbering is used within the system to reference the Twist/ Phase for a selection of manoeuvres in an engine run to a common zero. The aim of characterisation for pulse identification is to allow the user to process a range of manoeuvres in a period of engine running...
