The Gentex SPH-5 Rotary Wing Aircrew Helmet System KEY FEATURES Strong, Lightweight Shell and Liner The strong, lightweight composite shell and polystyrene Energy Absorbing Liner (EAL) molded to conform to the inside of the helmet shell provides impact resistance of 300 Gs (cold) and 400 Gs (hot). In addition to a rugged exterior that has rubber edge beading on the periphery, a washable helmet comfort liner—the Gentex Thermoplastic Liner (TPL®)—optimizes overall head fit and comfort, and features special fastener strips for easy installation and removal. For added comfort, the Super Comfort Liner (SCL) is also available, which has a thicker, plush cloth cover. Both preformed TPL’s and SCL’s fit most head shapes within a given size, and if necessary, they can be heat-softened and custom fitted. The Gentex SPH-5 Rotary Wing Aircrew Helmet System Front View Stabilizing Retention System Provides Optimum Fit and Protection Using a hook and pile closure at the nape for individual sizing; an adjustable nape strap; front, rear and center straps with triple eyelets for vertical adjustment of the ear cups; and a chin strap, the yoke-style retention system stabilizes the helmet. The system is available in double D-ring or as a quickdisconnect (snap), both withstanding a pull strength test of 300 lbs.
