Receiving and Inventory Procedures
Upon receiving materials, ensure the driver's signature is obtained as acknowledgment. Inventory the materials immediately and report any shortages to VividGlass. Concealed damages should be reported to the carrier, and if necessary, a written freight claim should be filed, and replacement glass ordered.

Storage and Handling Guidelines
Store glass indoors at moderate temperatures. If outdoor storage is necessary, protect from direct sunlight and ensure air circulation to prevent condensation. Handle glass with care, using appropriate safety gear, and avoid edge damage which can lead to breakage. Glass should be stacked on edge with proper support and interleaving.

Protection and Maintenance
Install glass after potentially damaging construction activities are completed. Protect glass from damage if installation must occur earlier. Clean glass with appropriate solvents and avoid abrasive materials. Regular cleaning is necessary to remove stains from weathering steel and alkaline materials.

Product Data and Compliance
VividGlass complies with major building codes and industry standards for safety glazing, including ASTM and ANSI standards. Dimensional tolerances for glass thickness and interlayer are specified, with closer tolerances achievable if required.

Inspection Guidelines
Inspection criteria for vision area glazing are provided, detailing acceptable levels of defects such as bubbles, discoloration, and dirt. The guidelines specify different standards for central and outer areas of the glass.

Glazing Guidelines
The glazing system must support and cushion the glass, preventing metal-to-glass contact and minimizing thermal stress. Design considerations include expansion joints and deflection limits. The glazing channel must accommodate glass tolerances and facilitate drainage to prevent prolonged moisture exposure.

Setting Blocks and Accessories
Setting blocks should be made of resilient materials compatible with sealants, supporting the glass at quarter points. Gaskets or spacers should maintain face clearances, and edge blocks should limit lateral shifting in large lites.

Dry-Glazing Gaskets
The joints of dry-glazing gaskets must be cut and sealed following the manufacturer's guidelines to ensure a watertight and airtight seal.

Sealants
For laminated glass products, non-hardening, solid sealants are recommended. Key considerations for product selection include weather resistance, mechanical properties, durability, cost, and compatibility with other glazing components. The VividGlass interlayer system, derived from DuPont Butacite®, may experience discoloration or edge separation if exposed to certain sealant by-products. Compatibility testing is advised, especially for critical applications. Non-acidic, neutral curing (alkoxy type) silicone is recommended, as acetoxy type silicone is incompatible with architectural laminated glass.

Application Guidelines
Sealants should be applied on clean, dry surfaces, with installation temperatures above 50°F (10°C) and maintained for 24 hours post-application. To reduce thermal edge stress, the exterior watershed should not exceed 1/16”.
