SENTRY Recorders

SENTRY Recorders

Product catalog summary
Introduction
SENTRY recorders are designed to replace legacy recorders that are becoming difficult to source and maintain. They fit into existing spaces using an adapter tray, avoiding structural modifications.

Design and Features
The SENTRY recorders are the smallest and lightest available, featuring an FPGA-based architecture within a titanium enclosure weighing under 5 lbs. They support direct replacement without introducing new constraints. Key features include Ethernet, ARINC 717 and 429 with auto-detection, RS-422/485, analog and discrete inputs, rotor speed, and four audio channels. An FDS MAU can format data if aircraft outputs do not match.

Memory Protection and RIPS
The recorders have a patent-pending memory protection system that remains reliable under extreme conditions. An optional integrated RIPS provides up to 10 minutes of recording continuity after power loss.

Regulatory Compliance
The United States, Canada, and Mexico require 25-hour cockpit voice recording. SENTRY25 maintains the SENTRY enclosure and interfaces, with certification scheduled for completion in October 2026 and shipments beginning January 2027.

Configurations and Certification
SENTRY recorders are available in 2-hour and 25-hour CVR and CVFDR, and FDR configurations. They are ED-112A certified and DO-160G qualified, with installation approvals available in the Flight Data Systems STC library.

Lifecycle and Support
The recorders work with HHMPI and Flight Data Systems readout services, ensuring that the recorder, download tool, and compliance report are sourced from one provider.

SENTRY Recorders-1

SENTRY Smallest. Simplest. Retrofit-ready. An ED-112A certified CVR, FDR or CVFDR built to go into the aircraft you already have, without asking for structure, wiring or panel space you do not have to give. Legacy recorders are getting harder to source, harder to support and harder to keep compliant. SENTRY replaces them in the same location, using an adapter tray where the bay was sized for a larger unit, so a recorder change stays a recorder change instead of becoming a structural modification. The smallest and lightest by design Fits the fleet you actually operate An FPGA-based architecture in a titanium enclosure, under 5 lb. Reduced footprint and low mass support direct replacement of legacy recorders without introducing new aircraft constraints. Ethernet, ARINC 717 and 429 with auto-detection, RS422/485, analog and discrete inputs, rotor speed and four audio channels. Where aircraft outputs do not match, an FDS MAU formats the data upstream. Modernized memory protection Optional integrated RIPS A patent-pending memory protection system designed to stay reliable under extreme conditions, without depending on aging components or proprietary legacy designs. Up to 10 minutes of recording continuity after power loss, which is usually where the most useful part of an event sits. The United States, Canada and Mexico now require 25-hour cockpit voice recording, and the requirement continues to spread. Most fleets will meet it during scheduled maintenance rather than through a dedicated program, which makes recorder envelope and wiring impact the deciding factors. SENTRY25 keeps the SENTRY enclosure, interfaces and ED-112A certification basis. A service bulletin upgrade is available to current and new SENTRY customers. Orders are being accepted now, certification is scheduled for completion in October 2026, and shipments begin January 2027. CONFIGURATIONS 2-hour and 25-hour CVR and CVFDR, and FDR. CERTIFICATION ED-112A certified, DO-160G qualified. Installation approvals are published in the Flight Data Systems STC library. LIFECYCLE Works with HHMPI and Flight Data Systems readout services, so the recorder, the download tool and the compliance report come from one source.
