MAU Overview

MAU Overview

Product catalog summary
Overview: The Modular Acquisition Unit (MAU) is designed to resolve compatibility issues between aircraft outputs and recorder expectations. It processes various input types such as analog, discrete, synchro, GPS, CSDB, ARINC 429, ARINC 717, and MIL-STD-1553, outputting in ARINC 429 and ARINC 717 formats.
Installation and Design: The MAU is lightweight at 1.5 lb (0.68 kg) and can be installed in any orientation, including unpressurized locations. Its stackable, SWaP-optimized footprint minimizes integration time and wiring complexity.
Expandability: The unit supports a 24-channel expansion module and an optional Quick Access Recorder (QAR), allowing for additional parameters or QAR functionality as needed without re-engineering.
Software-Defined Processing: The MAU features customer-loadable analysis and software-defined processing, ensuring accurate and consistent data for compliance and trend analysis.
Environmental Qualifications: The MAU is qualified under DO-160G and MIL-STD-810F, 461F, and 704F standards, operating in temperatures from -55 to +70 degrees C and altitudes up to 55,000 ft, with passive convection cooling.
Applications: Suitable for commercial fleets, rotorcraft, UAVs, and military aircraft, the MAU is FAA TSO-C124c authorized and complies with EUROCAE ED-112A Section II-2.1.
Configurations: Available configurations include the Base Modular Acquisition Unit, Expanded MAU with 24 channels per module, and QAR Acquisition Unit. Additional options include 115 VAC 400 Hz power, a 4.3-inch EMI-shielded touchscreen with optional NVG Class A, and internal non-volatile memory up to 64 GB.

MAU Overview-1

MODULAR ACQUISITION UNIT MAU Expandable, and built for any aircraft. A unified, recorder-ready data stream from mixed and legacy sensors, without the wiring, engineering or system overhaul that normally comes with it. Recorder upgrades stall when the aircraft cannot produce what the recorder expects. The MAU sits upstream and resolves that, taking analog, discrete, synchro, GPS, CSDB, ARINC 429, ARINC 717 and MIL-STD-1553 in, and putting ARINC 429 and ARINC 717 out. Installs where there is room Add capability without re-engineering 1.5 lb (0.68 kg) nominal, installed in any orientation including unpressurized locations. A stackable SWaPoptimized footprint keeps integration time and wiring runs down. A 24-channel expansion module and optional Quick Access Recorder let you add parameters or QAR functionality as mission or regulatory needs change, on the same base unit. Software-defined processing Qualified for hard environments Customer-loadable analysis and software-defined processing deliver accurate, consistent data for compliance and trend work, rather than a fixed-function box you replace when the requirement moves. DO-160G and MIL-STD-810F, 461F and 704F qualified, minus 55 to plus 70 degrees C operating, 55,000 ft, passive convection cooling. WHERE THE MAU EARNS ITS PLACE Expanding parameters for a compliance requirement, upgrading to a new recorder on an aircraft whose outputs do not match, or integrating mixed and legacy sensors on a platform that was never designed for the data you now need to capture. Commercial fleets, rotorcraft, UAVs and military aircraft, with a FAA TSO-C124c authorization and compliance with EUROCAE ED-112A Section II-2.1. CONFIGURATIONS Base Modular Acquisition Unit, Expanded MAU with 24 channels per module, and QAR Acquisition Unit. ALSO AVAILABLE 115 VAC 400 Hz power, 4.3 inch EMI-shielded touchscreen with optional NVG Class A, and internal non-volatile memory up to Tell us what the aircraft outputs today.
