The FloodAlert system offers a comprehensive flood management solution through a dedicated website. Engineers can monitor multiple sites using a map-based display, set customizable water level thresholds, and receive alerts when these thresholds are breached. The system also allows viewing of road images online to warn road users effectively.
Designed for roads or areas prone to flooding, the FloodAlert system uses a radar-based sensor to monitor water levels. It can activate VMS signs, initiate diversion routes, or close roads. Alerts are sent to stakeholders via SMS or email, and IP Cameras enable remote monitoring of flood events.
Data is sent every 5 minutes using GPRS communications to the flood monitoring website.
Findlay Irvine engineers conduct site visits to determine optimal equipment placement. The solar-powered kit, including a water pressure sensor, camera, and other components, is installed on a single post to minimize street furniture.
