The Extra NG represents a significant advancement in aerobatic aviation, featuring an all-carbon rigid base frame. This innovation offers a combination of aesthetic appeal and ergonomic cockpit design, ensuring maximum pilot comfort and state-of-the-art avionics.
The aircraft boasts improved aerodynamics for enhanced maneuverability and speed. Key components include a titanium firewall, a 3-blade propeller, a Beringer brake system, and a 6-in-1 exhaust system. The aircraft also features a smoke system with automatic filling, a trickle charger socket, and fiberglass landing gear springs.
The Extra NG is constructed with a carbon monocoque fuselage and carbon fiber wing assembly with an integral tank. It includes a two-seat bubble canopy, steerable soft tailwheel, and carbon pushrods. The interior is fully carbon with leather upholstery and adjustable seats and pedals.
Powered by a Lycoming AEIO-580-B1A, 315 hp, 6-cylinder engine, the aircraft includes two fuel pumps, a single oil cooler system, and an electric starter with a 60 Amp lightweight alternator. It also features Teflon lightweight hoses with integrated firesleeve.
The avionics suite includes a Garmin G3X Touch, speed indicator, altimeter, magnetic compass, and Trig TY 91 COM and Trig TT 2X XPDR systems.
