Datenblatt PLT-2 Proximity Lamp-Tester ETWaircraft GENERAL INFORMATION It can be used to test a single module or a string of modules up to a maximum draw of approximately 1,5-amp / 6V DC. The tester provides less than maximum lamp voltage; therefore, the lamps brightness will be reduced. This condition is meant to minimize any stress that could be applied to the light. An extension cable is provided for use on lights in remote locations. The tester runs on rechargeable batteries and a charger is include. Plugging the charger into the tester overnight, the batteries will be completely recharged. Continuous charging will not overcharge the batteries. A charging condition is indicated by a steady green light on the tester; a low battery condition is indicated by a steady yellow light on the tester. If the LED Lamp has a short circuit, or if the current draw is more than approximately 1,5 amp, the indicator status light will turn to red and the load under test will be turned off. During normal operation (witch indicates the module is functioning correctly), the indicator status light will pulsate between red and green, and the module under test will pulsate from dim to bright in order to differentiate the module being tested from other modules already illuminated in system. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Plug the LED Lamp into the tester. Depress the button 1 on the tester and observe that both the indicator lamp 2 and the LED Lamp Light illuminate. Status of the module is indicated by the color the indicator light: RED – Short circuit or excessive voltage YELLOW – Lowx battery level or discharge GREEN – Unit is charging RED/ GREEN (pulsating) – Normal operating condition YELLOW = LO BATT RED = SHORT GREEN = CHARGE RED/GREEN = OK TEST BUTTON Charger Jack Power supply input Power supply output Output Tester Enclosure Operation Temp.
