LIGHT-EMITTING DIODES (LEDS) are solid-state electronic devices that create light much more efficiently than traditional incandescent lamps. LEDs contain chemical compounds that emit light when electric current passes through them. These chemical compounds are modified to emit different colors of light. Unlike incandescent lamps, LEDs have no filaments that can burn out or fail. PIXELS are points of light that illuminate together to form letters, words and symbols.
