One factor which can compromise sorter performance is the need to stop the sorter to release an item which has become stuck between the trays. TrayDeck is an innovative and easy solution, developed by Crisplant, to prevent items becoming trapped between trays in airports, warehouse and distribution hubs. In airports, TrayDeck also offers a special design feature which eliminates blockages when handling bags with loose straps. • Improves system operation and loading profile • Significantly reduces the risk of sorter jams or crashes • More flexibility to handle odd size items • Reduces manual handling of nonstandard items • Suitable for new installations or system upgrades The patent-pending TrayDeck can be used in new installations or as an upgrade to an existing system. Retro-fitting is available for Crisplant S2000M, S3000M/E and LS-4000E/ econ tilt-tray sorters with radii of 2000, 3000 and 4000mm and with any tray size or cart pitch. In addition to minimising blockages on horizontal and level curves, TrayDeck also ensures uninterrupted operation on straight inclines and declines.

TILTING THROUGH CURVES The priority in the design of any sortation system is the need to achieve maximum capacity combined with the minimum system layout and foot-print. Now, for the first time, TrayDeck allows the gap between trays to be closed whilst still enabling every chute to be used. Even chutes closest to the curves remain available as TrayDeck allows the trays to remain tilted as they enter a curve immediately after a chute.
