Integrated common use identity management Improving passenger flow and convenience while maintaining security Rockwell Collins, in conjunction with Atkins, a leading provider of identity management solutions, is now offering a highly configurable solution that enables airlines and airports to implement biometric authentication in the departure process without changing Departure Control Systems (DCS). The capability can be integrated with Rockwell Collins’ ARINC vMUSE™ (Multi-User System Environment) and ARINC VeriPax™ technologies. The latest release of our ARINC vMUSE common use passenger processing system (CUPPS) includes standardised plug-ins to allow any biometric recognition technology to be integrated into the process at check-in, bag drop, kiosks, security points and boarding gates, indeed at all touch-points. Compliance with existing AEA standards is provided out of the box making integration with compliant hardware straightforward. Data from each touch-point can be collated to provide real time updates on the status of each passenger, offering early sight of potential loading issues to airlines and providing location information to the airport. Identity information is held in a specifically designed database for robust data protection and security. Additional security checks require careful design and implementation in complex environments.
