File ACAS via Traxon Global Security (TGS) - 1

global security File ACAS via Traxon Global Security (TGS) What is Air Cargo Advance Screening (ACAS)? ACAS is a security compliance program introduced by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to address ongoing aviation security threats. The pilot project, first put in place in October 2012, was opened to the Integrator/Express/Fast Parcels Market, before being made available to several large carriers and some large forwarders. When will ACAS take effect? After several years of piloting, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has published their ACAS Interim Final Rule (IFR) on 12 June 2018 and request comments within a 60-day period. The IFR can be viewed via this link: https://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2018-06-12/pdf/2018-12315.pdf “Once the IFR is issued, air carriers transporting cargo into the U.S. will be legally required to submit ACAS filings within a previously defined deadline. There will be an on-boarding process for those companies not already part of the ACAS pilot. Additionally, there is an expectation that there will be a period of informed compliance likely to be 9-12 months.”* What do I need to do to be compliant with ACAS? ACAS requires a set of data such as AWB number, total quantity, total weight, carrier, airport of origin and arrival, and description of cargo - as well as information about the shipper and consignee. Such data can be covered by sending the AWB (FWB) and House AWB (FHL) to the authorities. The ACAS data must be transmitted as early as possible, but no later than prior to loading of the cargo onto the aircraft. How can Traxon Global Security (TGS) can help? The ACAS filer only needs to send their FWB, FHL & FFM via CHAMP Traxon Global Security (TGS) and TGS takes care of the rest – connecting to CBP and TSA, and filing the correct security messages on time. How do I find out more? Just contact your local CHAMP Service or Sales Manager or marketing@champ.aero for more details or to sign up for TGS.
