The company is ISO 9002 certified across all North American locations and provides extensive value-added processing capabilities.
Processing Capabilities:
  • Shape Cutting: Utilizes multi-torch oxy-fuel, plasma (oxygen & nitrogen, Hy-Definition), abrasive waterjet, laser, and beveling (CNC plasma & flame).
  • Saw Cutting: Includes conventional and precision cold saws, abrasive saws, and vertical bandsaws.
  • Thermal Treating: Offers services such as plate preheat, stress relieve, anneal, normalize, quench & temper.
  • Surface Finishing: Provides descaling, rotary grinding, double disc grinding, surface grinding, planer milling, and press flattening.
  • Supplemental Services: Includes ultrasonic and mechanical testing, forming, drilling, and machining.
Product Specifications:
  • Carbon Steel Plate: Features low and medium carbon steels, free machining steels, structural steels, and pressure vessel steels with grades like A36, A572, and A588.
  • Alloy Steel Plate: Includes grades like 8620, 4140/4142, and 4340, known for high strength and toughness after heat treatment.
  • Stainless Steel Plate: Covers austenitic, ferritic, and duplex stainless steels, including grades like 303, 304, 316, and 2205, recognized for corrosion resistance and machinability.
Quality and Standards: All products are 100% prime plate with full mill certifications for traceability. The company complies with ISO 9002 standards and offers electronic file transfers for optimal inventory management.
Flatness and Thickness Tolerances: The document details permissible variations in flatness and thickness for carbon and stainless steel plates, adhering to ASTM standards.
Flatness Specifications: Permissible variations in flatness are outlined for steel plates. For plates less than 36 inches in length, the out-of-flatness should not exceed 3/8 inch. For plates between 36 inches and 72 inches, the out-of-flatness should not exceed 75% of the specified values. Maximum allowable flatness variations apply to plates up to 12 feet in length or any 12-foot section of longer plates. Flatness variations across the width should not exceed specified tabular amounts for the given width.
Flatness Tolerances: A detailed table of flatness tolerances is provided based on the thickness and width of the plates. For example, plates with a thickness up to 1/4 inch have specific flatness tolerances that vary with width, ranging from 13/16 inch to 2-3/4 inches.
Thickness Tolerances: Permissible variations in thickness are specified for rectangular carbon, high-strength low-alloy, and alloy-steel plates. Thickness tolerances are detailed in a table, with variations specified for different thickness ranges and widths. For instance, plates with a thickness up to 1/4 inch have a tolerance of 0.03 inches for widths up to 60 inches.
Measurement Guidelines: Thickness is to be measured at 3/8 to 3/4 inch from the longitudinal edge. If measured at any other location, the permissible maximum over tolerance should be increased by 75%, rounded to the nearest 0.01 inch.

Stainless Steel Plate QUALITY PERMISSIBLE VARIATIONS FROM FLATNESS IN ANNEALED STAINLESS STEEL PLATES (FROM ASTM A480) Tolerances in the table apply to plates up to 15 ft. in length, or to any 15 ft., of longer plates. If plate length is under 36 in., out-of-flat may not exceed 1/4". For plates with specified minimum yield strengths of 35 ksi or more, the permissible variations are increased to 1-1/2 times the amounts shown above.
