3401-029 Microminiature MDM Connectors Contact Design The high-performance and reliable contact characteristics are obtained by the MicropinTM contact system. The flexible “twist-pin” spring contact consists of 7 strands of 0,127 (.005) diameter beryllium copper wire helically wound around a core of 3 strands 0,09 (.0035) diameter soft copper wire. This wire bundle is crimped into a sleeve at one end. The other end is terminated with a hemispherically shaped weld.
