The Skate cart is also used in mechanical workshops or hangars to facilitate handling and/ or optimize space. Once lifted by means of a jack or hydraulic cylinder and placed on one or more carts, the vehicle or aircraft becomes maneuverable by hand or winch, as it rests on multidirectional castors. These carts are particularly appreciated in towing services, as they do not increase the width of the vehicle when it has to be loaded onto a trailer bed. Their high ground clearance means they can be used on steep inclines.
