Product catalog summary
Installation Manual Overview
This document is the installation manual for the Exceleron DayLite, a high-powered LED light designed for use in general aviation and transport category aircraft. It is lightweight and energy-efficient, meeting the highest certification standards.

Document Administration
The manual is approved under EASA AP429 and applies to specific part numbers for landing and taxi lights. Amendments are tracked electronically, with changes highlighted for clarity.

Installation Data
  • Operating Instructions: The light operates at maximum intensity when connected to the aircraft's power supply (14 or 28 volts), with an operating voltage range of 9-36VDC.
  • Technical Specifications: The light features over-voltage and reverse polarity protection, operates between -55°C to +85°C, and weighs 225 grams.
  • Wiring and Control: Recommended wire size is AWG 22, with black and red wires for negative and positive power supply lines, respectively.
  • Optic Simulation: Provides candela ratings for different models, indicating light intensity.

Equipment Limitations
The lights should only be powered by a 9-36VDC source.

Care and Cleaning
The lights are factory polished and should be cleaned with a lamb’s wool sheet. Petroleum-based products should not be used.

Testing Before Installation
Lights undergo rigorous testing before release. Testing should be done with a 14V/10A DC or 28V/5A DC power supply, not a battery charger.

Installation Notes
Use stainless steel screws for mounting, ensuring even distribution of tightening forces.

Continued Airworthiness
Lights should be checked during preflight and inspected annually or every 100 hours.

Compliance Statements
  • RoHS Compliance: The product complies with EU Directive 2015/863/EU, restricting hazardous substances.
  • EU REACH Regulation: No chemicals used are listed as Substances of Very High Concern.
