Holographic Radar

Product catalog summary
Introduction
Holographic Radar™ technology marks a significant advancement in radar technology, designed to not only detect but also understand targets in real time. Unlike traditional rotating radars, it uses a static, staring, phased array for continuous 3D surveillance, offering high update rates, intelligent target characterization, and clutter-free monitoring.

How it Works
The system employs a configurable phased array forming multiple beams in three dimensions, allowing persistent observation and classification of targets. It covers sectors from 60° to 360° up to 40 nautical miles, with extensive processing capabilities for real-time monitoring and tracking.

Intelligent Characterisation
Utilizing 2,048 Doppler bins, Holographic Radar™ creates detailed target signatures, enabling simultaneous intelligent characterization without the limitations of rotating antennas.

Performance
Operating in the L Band, Holographic Radar™ is unaffected by reductions in S Band spectrum availability. It is spectrum-efficient, requiring only 2MHz, and can operate without interference between adjacent installations.

Applications
The radar effectively addresses issues caused by wind turbines to Primary Surveillance Radars (PSR) in air traffic control, providing clutter-free infill or acting as a standalone PSR. Its versatility allows a single sensor to perform multiple surveillance tasks across land, maritime, and airspace environments.

Specifications
  • Range: Circular – 40NM; Networked - scalable
  • Field of view: 90 - 360 degrees
  • Elevation: >80 degrees
  • Probability of Detection: >96%
  • Position accuracy: <300m RMS
  • Data latency: < 2 sec
  • Reporting capacity: > 500 targets per interval (360 deg)

Modular Configuration
Holographic Radar™ is modular, configurable as a 360° array or a single panel, and can be deployed as an infill to existing PSR systems, with successful installations at UK airports.

Holographic Radar-2

Introduction Holographic Radar™ technology represents the biggest change in radar technology for over 50 years. It has been designed not merely to detect a target, but to fully understand that target in real time. Based on a static, staring, phased array which can be configured to suit a range of surveillance requirements, it differs from traditional rotating surveillance radars by providing: • An exceptionally high update rate (up to 4Hz) • A 3D real-time tracking capability • Intelligent characterisation and identification of target returns • Clutter-free surveillance with an extremely high...
