case study: Hospitality | Public Space Shanghai Pudong International Airport Shanghai, China One of the design team’s main objectives was to create a cozy and quiet environment for public areas in the airport. After consulting with other global airport authorities in the Asia Pacific region, the project team decided to install carpet instead of conventional hard flooring with the intent to reduce the noise level in the passenger gate waiting areas.
