High Power Connector

Product catalog summary
Introduction to High Power Series
Amphenol Aerospace has launched a new series of high power connectors designed for environments requiring high current and temperature tolerance. These connectors offer a significant increase in current capacity compared to standard 5015 connectors and are available with either threaded or bayonet coupling. They are highly customizable for easy integration with existing systems, featuring gold-plated contacts, multiple termination methods, and over 25 insert arrangements supporting up to 1000 amps per connector.
Specifications and Performance
The connectors are rated for up to 7000 volts at sea level, can withstand shocks of 50g, and operate in temperatures from -55°C to 200°C. They comply with MIL-DTL-5015 standards for environmental sealing and are durable for at least 100 mating cycles, with RADSOK® contacts recommended for enhanced durability.
Contact Options
Available contact options include RADSOK® technology for low resistance and high durability, and Temper-grip contacts for high current applications exceeding 200°C, maintaining performance in high-temperature conditions.
Ordering and Customization
Customers can choose from various connector types, shell styles, finishes, contact styles, and insert arrangements. Custom plating and specific mechanical or electrical configurations are available upon request by contacting Amphenol Aerospace.
Termination Options
The document outlines termination options such as male and female threaded terminations, solder cup, and PCB terminations, with dimensions provided for different shell sizes. Custom requirements can be addressed by contacting the factory.
Overview
This document provides technical specifications and ordering information for Amphenol Aerospace's high-power connectors, including details on insert arrangements, service ratings, contact sizes, and alternate positioning.
Specifications
It lists insert arrangements with service ratings, number of contacts, and contact sizes, along with measurements for shell sizes and configurations like wall mount receptacles, straight plugs, and jam nut receptacles.
Procedures
Instructions for ordering the high-power series connectors are provided, detailing connector type, shell style, finish, contact style, shell size, insert arrangement, socket type/pin, and alternate positions.
Standards and Recommendations
The document advises using alternate rotations to prevent cross-plugging issues for connectors of the same size and arrangement, with a chart for alternate positioning options.
Key Data from Tables
Tables include dimensions for shell sizes, thread classes, and panel cutout dimensions, as well as degrees of rotation for alternate positions in insert arrangements.
Contact Information
Contact details for various Amphenol divisions and locations worldwide are provided, including phone numbers and addresses for further inquiries.

SHOCK Wired, mated connectors are subjected to one shock in each of three mutually perpendicular axes with pulse of an approximate half sine wave of 50g magnitude for a duration of 11 milliseconds. All contacts wired in series circuit with 100 ±10 Milliamperes of current flow. OPERATING TEMPERATURE RANGE Classes RF, RL, and RK have temperature range of -55°C (-75°F) to 200°C (392°F) Classes RW, DT, & DZ have temperature range of -55°C (-75°F) to 175°C (347°F) ENVIRONMENTAL SEAL Wired, mated connectors with environmental accessories attached as required, will meet the altitude immersion test specified...

Standard Contacts RADSOK Contacts Standard Contacts Temper-GRIP Contacts Socket Contact OptionsRADSOK® LOW CONTACT ENGAGEMENT/SEPARATION FORCES The hyperbolic lamella socket contact construction distributes normal forces over a high percentage of mating pin surface. This creates a smooth, even engagement effort. This force distribution also contributes to excellent performance in vibration applications with resistance to typical fretting corrosion. LOW CONTACT RESISTANCE The large interface area between the socket lamella and pin surface results in very low contact resistance, enabling the RADSOK®...

To avoid cross-plugging problems in applications requiring the use of more than one connector of the same size and arrangement, alternate rotations are available as indicated in the accompanying charts. As shown in the diagram below, the front face of the pin insert is rotated within the shell in a clockwise direction from the normal shell key. The socket insert would be rotated counter-clockwise the same number of degrees in respect to the normal shell key. The charts give the W, X, Y, Z positions for the alternate rotations available for the insert arrangements of the rear release MIL-DTL-5015...
