Total Temperature and Pressure Probes

Total Temperature and Pressure Probes

Product catalog summary
Description: AMETEK provides certified total temperature and pressure probes for aircraft engines, specifically designed for turbine engines. These probes are used in various engine models including Pratt 4000, Pratt 6000, CF34-10, and GP7200, offering both temperature and pressure sensing capabilities.
Design and Capabilities: AMETEK leverages extensive experience in pressure and temperature sensing, utilizing CAE and CFD analyses, and wind tunnel testing. The probes are designed to meet modern requirements, including vibration resistance up to 8000 Hz and compliance with icing conditions. The FJ44-3 probe combines temperature and pressure sensing in one unit, certified for temperatures from -121º to 257ºF.
Applications and Systems: AMETEK's probes are integrated into air data systems, providing signal processing for aircraft like the Dassault Falcon and Pilatus. The systems support advanced capabilities such as RVSM and TAWS. AMETEK offers customizable solutions, including electronics integration, heating, and mechanical packaging.
Specifications: The probes operate within an ambient temperature range of -65º to 300ºF, with an accuracy of +2ºF. They have a response time of 8.5 seconds, hermeticity of 1x10-6 std cc/sec helium, and can withstand vibrations of 40 Gs up to 8,000 Hz. The insulation resistance is 100 MΩ minimum at 500 VDC, and dielectric strength is 600 VAC. The estimated MTBF is over 500,000 hours, with a recovery coefficient of 99% at Mach 0.3 and angle of attack sensitivity of less than 0.5ºF at 5º AOA.
Contact Information: AMETEK's headquarters are located in Wilmington, MA, USA, with sales offices in North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.

Total Temperature and Pressure Probes-1

Engine Components and Accessories Total Temperature and Pressure Probes DESCRIPTION AMETEK provides aircraft engine total temperature probes certified for turbine engines. AMETEK Aerospace and Defense has employed years as an industry leader in on-engine and airframe pressure and temperature sensing experience to design and manufacture our new line of Total Temperature & Pressure Probes. In addition to engine inlet temperatures, AMETEK supplies sensors for turbine 2 through 5 locations, also. These applications include: S Pratt 4000 (temperature and pressure) S Pratt 6000 (temperature and pressure) S CF34-10 (temperature) S GP7200 (temperature and pressure) AMETEK Aerospace and Defense has the design resources, CAE and CFD analyses, wind tunnel test equipment, and, most importantly, experience to be the total temperature and total pressure probe supplier. The AMETEK probe for the FJ44-3 has a combined total temperature/ total pressure probe with pressure transducer in one package, now certified for -121° to 257°F (-85° to 125°C) temperatures, vibration to 8000 Hz, and the latest icing condition requirements. The internal temperature sensor die is lighter, more reliable and more responsive than old fashioned wire wound types. Air data systems benefit from AMETEK’s experience on engines. AMETEK already provides air data systems signal processing for the Dassault Falcon, Pilatus and others with the latest capabilities: Separation Minimums (RVSM) and Terrain Avoidance Warning (TAWS). AMETEK can provide the system. S Electronics in the probe? AMETEK can do it. S Heated probe? AMETEK can do it. S Temperature and pressure? AMETEK can combine it. S Custom mechanical packaging? AMETEK does it routinely.
