- For unpolished aluminum, start with Grade C and buff until dry and shiny. For stainless steel or corroded aluminum, start with Grade F7 and finish with Grade S for clarity.
- For polished aluminum, use Grade S sparingly and buff with a cotton pad for depth and clarity.
- For paint, use Grade S or specialty grades for smoothing and gloss. Heavier grades may be used for heavy oxidation or deteriorated paint.

The NuShine II System Graded Metal and Paint Polish Nuvite NuShine II offers a graded system of polishes for both metal and paint finishing that will provide the finest surface finish available.
